Lovers of the sea and major national and international companies will meet from 12 to 16 October 2022 at the 60th edition of the Barcelona International Boat Show, one of the largest boat shows in Europe, which will bring together all the offerings and innovations in sport and recreational boating. All this in the incomparable setting of the Port Vell, an emblematic point in the maritime history of the city of Barcelona.
Organised by Fira de Barcelona, in collaboration with the National Association of Nautical Companies (ANEN), it will offer more than 50,000 business opportunities that bring together the nautical community, a growing market that is generating more and more interest.
It has 25,000 square metres of stands and boats afloat, with 250 participating brands and 19% of the professional public, where 51,225 visitors will meet, with 8% of international visitors.
The Boat Show presents a wide commercial offer in sports and recreational boating, with floating and dry exhibitions.
Motorboats and sailing boats, fishing and touring boats, canoes, kayaks, yachts, catamarans, boats, trailers and sports clothing share space with a 360º vision of the nautical world in 3 areas: the Sea Boulevard, Marina Dream and the Innovation Dock.
The president of the event, Luis Conde, said at the presentation of the Barcelona Boat Show that “this is a very special edition, as the show is adding new spaces with the aim of continuing to be the largest commercial showcase for Spanish boating, contributing to the growth of the sector and promoting its transformation”.
4 Itineraries for a unique experience
The Barcelona Boat Show brings together all types of sea lovers, from deep-sea adventurers to relentless professionals, with 4 itineraries to showcase all the latest developments.
The first itinerary is the Nautica de alta mar, every sailor’s dream, for users of medium and large boats. Marina Dream is the first must-see, a large floating exhibition with the best selection of motor yachts and catamarans from the leading brands in Moll de España and Marina Port Vell.
You can also take a stroll along the Sea Boulevard where you can discover the full range of equipment, nautical services, accessories and a large sailing exhibition, all in more than 12,000 square metres of stands in the Moll de la Fusta.
Finally, you can join the VIP Buyers programme for those interested in buying a boat over 15 metres in length.
The second itinerary is Nautica de costa, for coastal enthusiasts and users of small boats. There is a land exhibition at Sea Boulevard where you can find recreational boats, accessories and services for sports boating.
Another itinerary is aimed at sea sports enthusiasts, where they can find a wide range of products, equipment and accessories for all marine sports activities.
What better place to enjoy your passion than in the world capital of nautical sports, Barcelona, which will host the America’s Cup 2024.
Finally, the show offers its own space for professional boating, where you can see all the latest motor yachts and catamarans at the Marina Dream exhibition in Moll de España and Marina Port Vell.
You can also find out about all the new products on the market and make contact with the main shipyards and distributors of the nautical industry in the Sea Boulevard area, where you can enjoy the largest exhibition of nautical services, equipment and accessories and the largest floating display of sailing yachts.
Innovation Dock, for a more modern and sustainable boating industry
Don’t miss the new space to promote entrepreneurship and innovation in the nautical sector, the Innovation Dock 2022 by Nautic Tech, launched by the Barcelona Boat Show and Seed&Click. You will be able to discover the best nautical innovations guided by a selection of startups and experts at European level.
This project is looking for the 15 most innovative European startups that are environmentally aware and eager to continue growing.
Discover the future of the sea and witness how the boating industry is heading towards a green transition: from revolutionary construction materials and powerful hybrid and electric engines to hyper-connected boats.
Canoeing and sailing activities at the Barcelona Boat Show 2022
Since 2017, the Barcelona Boat Show programme has included the Barcelona Paddle Race 2022, a canoe race along the Barcelona coastline.
The event, organised by the Barcelona Canoeing Club, will take place over the weekend with a training session and the race itself, which will be held on Sunday 16.
On the other hand, the Catalan Sailing Federation will be organising different activities related to this sport, from group outings in sailing boats and children’s activities to different talks on the world of sailing and its characteristics.
Collaborations with sporting events
To support the development of sailing, the Barcelona Boat Show will become the main partner of various events and regattas that will take place during 2022, such as the Ruta de La Sal for sailing cruising boats, the Windsurfer Europeans ‘La Brava Cup’ windsurfing race and the Solo Med for 6.50 class boats.
The Show will also collaborate with the celebration of the America’s Cup in 2024. According to Luis Conde, “The America’s Cup and the Ryder Cup are the most watched sporting events in the United States. This will mean a change in the profile of the tourist, and a success in repositioning Barcelona in the world”.
